Hey Sarah! Thanks for being our flygirl of the month! When did you first start getting noticed for your style?

First time I got noticed for my style would probably be through my friends when I was in high school, who loves the pieces that I put together and always asked me for tips and ideas! I was also huge on D.I.Y back in the day and experimenting on different pieces.

How would you describe your signature style?

I would describe my signature style as a mix of street wear, old school 90’s fashion and the current hyped fashion trends – basically fresh!

What labels do you love to wear?

Of course Educate Elevate! I also love wearing labels like Pyrex Vision and Hood by Air which have a lot of black and casual pieces that you can mix with other basic items. Other labels that I love would be Brian Lichtenberg and KTZ! I also love small independent street wear labels and thrift stores as you would be surprised with what you can find there!

Who are your style icons and why?

My style icons would definitely be Asap Rocky, he just wears pieces that look crazy but fit in well! He make things work! What is your favourite outfit of all time? I have a lot of favourite outfits depending on the look that I am going for, so if it was casual attire, I love wearing a beanie, oversized shirt, denim, my favourite Huf socks and my Nike air max. But if I was going for more of a smart casual look, it would definitely be my leather black pants that appear like joggers and my leather crop top that I bought from a local independent designer named Luella. Always leather and denim!

What is your worst fashion faux pas?

Worst fashion faux pas I have seen was definitely the infamous crocs. I was guilty of it back in early 2000 but looking back, I think that’s one of the worst fashion mistakes I ever committed!

Footwear of choice?

Definitely my “Nike Air Max 90 VT Premium” in Haystack. If you love Timberlands and your Nike sneakers, this is the best combination! It comes in a nice brown suede colour and it is comfortable and just so easy to love and match.

Who is your favourite artist? (musical)

Favourite musical artist would be Rihanna Fenty. She dresses with that I don’t give a fuck attitude and confidence that is just on point! From a musical point of view, what can i say..?

If you could restyle any badly dressed celebrity who would it be and how would you dress them?

I think Nicki Minaj can be a great entertainer but her crazy outfits can definitely be improved! She does have a great body and if she could swag it out with some old school vibe!

Who’s style do you admire (non celeb)?

A non-celebrity style that I admire would be my mom’s fashion back in the 80’s/90’s where she would wear high waist printed pants with groovy shirts and just her “Farah Fawcett” hair. I would not be able to work it the way she did! Where do you get your influence for style?

The pieces and outfits that I wear are usually influenced by Instagram and Tumblr where I get some ideas off and develop them further by matching them with my own pieces that I buy locally. Otherwise, it is majorly influenced by music entertainers both old school hip hop and todays artists such as Asap Rocky and even Teyana Taylor!

What is your pet hate when it comes to fashion?

My pet hate is wearing flare jeans with runners…again guilty of it when I was 12. Which fashion trend would you ban forever?

Fashion trend that I would ban is Air Jordan’s with heels! Jordan’s are not Jordan’s if they are heels! I just appreciate my sneakers and heels separately and I think a combination of the two is just….not right.

Favourite designer?

My favourite designer changes all the time! But right now, Wil Fry! I am so obsessed with his designs! He got a lot of hate for his portrait of Ian Connor collection but I don’t give a damn so, check out his designs on!

Favourite movie?

My favourite all time movie would definitely be “Like Mike”, you can never resist a little Bow Wow in your life.

Who would play you in a movie of your life and why? It would be Cassie Ventura, I am not even on her level of hotness but she sounds like someone with similar personality to me and I dig her style!

What do you miss about the 90s?

I miss cartoons, especially nickelodeon, I just miss some good old Rugrats and hey Arnold! Best cartoons ever.

One thing that makes you angry?

Nothing makes me more angry than negative thoughts influenced by negative people! Just puts you in a bad mood so I always try and get out of that space and if possible, avoid them.

One thing that makes you happy?

Being with the people that I love – family, friends and especially, my girlfriend.

How would you describe yourself in five words?

 Unpredictable, positive, determined, hopeful, different

If you could pick any item to wear from the E&E collection which would it be?

I love the beanies! Such a basic fashion statement that everyone needs.

What piece of advice would you give people to educate & elevate in life?

The number one important thing in life is to always remember and count your blessings and the importance of positivity – if you do all this, from my experiences, you have a better perspective of your life no matter how hard it can get!
